Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

About the dresses

What dresses are available to order? 2018-01-25T13:25:04+00:00

I have a range of dresses that are available to order. Sizes range from a 0 to a 36. These dresses take about 12 weeks to get in.

Yes I can do this with a 50% deposit. All deposits are non-refundable.

Can I leave a deposit and pay later? 2018-01-21T19:12:13+00:00

Yes of course, deposits are 50% of the price of the dress. All deposits are non-returnable and non-refundable.

What if I change my mind? 2018-01-25T13:25:54+00:00

You need to be sure about your purchase at the time you buy. All gowns are are non-returnable and non-refundable. This is common practise in the bridal industry.

Can I revisit if I can’t make my decision straight away? 2018-01-25T13:26:46+00:00

Yes, of course, I am happy to welcome back my customers for as many appointments as they need. I understand that it is a huge decision and it is sometimes a difficult one to make. Just remember, you need to factor in the time it takes from ordering a dress to its arrival. Don’t leave it too late!

I love the dress but it doesn’t fit, what can I do? 2018-01-21T19:13:46+00:00

Most dresses can be altered to fit. A dress that is too big can usually be altered down by a size or two. However, I would not recommend letting out seams to increase the size of a dress. This rarely achieves a satisfactory result, and is especially risky on a wedding gown. The easiest way to alter a dress can be to have it changed from a zip to a lace or corset back.

Do you have an alterations service? 2018-01-21T19:14:21+00:00

No, but I can recommend local seamstress who has altered many of my dresses for my brides. However, she is independent from me and I do not accept responsibility for any alterations undertaken.

About our service

Do you have parking? 2018-01-25T13:27:10+00:00

Yes. The shop has plenty of parking for you and your friends and family to use.

Why have an appointment? 2018-01-21T19:15:21+00:00

I have an appointment service because it allows you time to view and try on the dresses without being disturbed by others. It also enables me to give you my full attention and to enjoy the experience of visiting my shop.

Is there only one dress or can I order a dress? 2018-01-25T13:27:42+00:00

Dresses are mainly available to order. Depending on the stockists, they take about three months to arrive. Some of the Victoria Kay gowns are held in stock but we would need to check at your appointment.

How long will my appointment be, can I bring someone with me? 2018-01-21T19:16:49+00:00

I am happy to spend as long with you as you need, even if it means a second (or third) appointment. If I’m busy, appointments are scheduled two hours and I will warn you of this at the time.

Feel free to bring someone with you for that helpful second opinion. Of course, if I don’t have another bridal appointment after yours, you are welcome to stay as long as you like! And you can return to my shop as many times as you need.

Why no make-up or perfume? 2018-01-25T13:28:19+00:00

Although the gowns you will try on are my samples, I want to keep them as perfect as possible for each bride. So, it is preferable that you do not wear make up or perfume. Most bridal stores do make this request.

The worst offender is fake tan! Please DO NOT wear this when trying on any dresses.

How can I pay? 2018-01-21T19:17:50+00:00

I am happy to accept cash, debit and credit cards, and by bank transfer. Please note, if you decide to use your credit card, there will be a 2% service fee added to the bill.
